The Maths Boat
The Maths Boat is the result of a Nordic co-operation and the program is also available in Finnish, Norwegian and Danish Sign Language.
Solving problems & number awareness
Aboard the Maths Boat "Klura" deaf children get to puzzle over problems and practise number awareness together with captain Matti and the stowaway Moa. The program addresses children at the ages 5-8 and is as suitable in pre-school and school as it is at home.
In Sign Language
You don't have to be able to read to use the program because in this version of the Maths Boat all information is provided in Sign Language. The tasks are also presented in text and if someone who doesn't know Sign Language wants to use the program it is possible to listen to a voice-over at the same time as Moa and Matti are using Sign Language.
In several languages
The Maths Boat is the result of a Nordic co-operation and the program is also available in Finnish, Norwegian and Danish Sign Language. Also, SIT has released the Maths Boat in a Swedish version with other actors. Here the children can both see and hear Matti and Moa talk about their problems on the Maths Boat and if you are hard of hearing you have the possibility to read lips.
Save Klura!
Captain Matti has a problem!
Klura is taking in water and he cannot find the leak. The children can save Klura by helping Matti to take care of the animals so that he can look for the leak.
Secrets
The children will soon meet Moa who becomes their secret friend. Moa has an agreement with the children. If they don't reveal that she has sneaked aboard the boat, she promises to help them with clues and hints on how to move around on the boat.

The Maths Boat contains more than 90 minutes of video and is distributed as a DVD-ROM or on two CDs.
