Educational materials for the deaf and hard of hearing

The National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools develops and produces special needs education teaching materials, primarily for pupils with functional disabilities who require pedagogical materials based upon the pupil's capabilities and needs.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing
We develop, produce and inform about teaching materials for pupils, adolescents and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Our teaching materials are available in a number of different subjects for pre-school, primary school, secondary school and adult education. We produce teaching materials in printed format, as videograms and computer programs.
Sign Language
In 1981 the Swedish Sign Language was acknowledged as a language of its own and as the first language for the deaf in Sweden. Read more about Bilingualism.
As a result all education in Swedish schools for the deaf are performed in Sign Language.
We who work at the teaching material unit for the deaf and hard of hearing mainly produce material in Sign Language. The teaching materials are delivered as video and DVD products.
We also develop teaching materials for multimedia.
Link-it
A program for computers that will make all computer work with text and Sign Language easier.
Since Sign Language is a visual language, it is natural that our products mainly consist of video and DVD products. Some teaching materials are also available in printed format.
With Link-it you are able to make bilingual materials for comparing languages
